JUST HEIZ

Yes this is me. Real. Hair to Toenails. What you see is what you get. and maybe more.

I chose this photo because, there is no make-up, I just awakened from an afternoon nap, and just hit the road. I was in my walking routine around town, when a photographer in the village spotted me. :)

It dawned on me, that as a blogger, i need to share who I am.

So that I can connect to fellow bloggers and to the readers.

It is actually Hazel. Turned into Hei. Then into Heiz.

Not my choice. But my name evolved. Let's just say, through healing and challenging times. Nobody has ever called me another nickname after "Heiz".

So be it.

I wanted to make a short-cut and just "H", though.

When you have the name "Hazel", what really made it peculiar is when I introduce myself, over the phone, or "face to face". They just don't get it right.

I can hear them ask, "Angel?", "Rachel?", "Hangel?", "Razer?". Wow, I don't know where they ever got those. But the most classic one? "Henry?" Lol for me. So if the caller on the other line doesn't get my name, what do I do? I spell it out. But spelling is still tough. So I learned it the military way. Hotel. Alpha. Zebra. Echo. Lima.

Or it can be Hotel. Echo. India. Zebra. Now i get a new citizenship. Indian.

As times go by, I thought, maybe it will be easier to remember me with just 1 letter, “H”. Whenever I use this when people ask my name, I hear, “What?”. But I stick to it. Maybe I can answer, “H, Hotel”.

Then I thought, H for Happy.Heart.Heal.Hear.Hand. or Hetty, Jollibee’s friend. I think they know Hetty more.

C’mon, being identified with a name like mine, is really, rough but funny.

Hazel, Heiz, or H will then be acceptable. Whatever it is, I whisper to myself, "Thanks God, I have a name."
